A couple of days ago, I sent that Ron Williams writing "The Correction and Salvation of Children" to Dr. Richard Pendleton. Dick and his wife, Lavon, are solid Christian people; I've known the family for at least 25 years. Here is his response:

No, I had not gotten this before. I read the first part, scanned a bit more, and junked the rest. It is absolute garbage. No where do I see anything about the love of God, the gathering in of the ?little child?, the intimate relationship for which Jesus died that we might live. Do I believe in reasonable discipline of children? Yes I do. Might this, on rare occasions include some non-damaging physical correction. I believe so, especially when the child is quite small and a smack on a diaper can enforce much, hurt little besides their feelings. I am not responsible for the salvation of my children. I was responsible to teach them about our Lord by word and deed. They are now all Christians adults of whom I am proud. Jesus is their savior, not me. I don?t want to get into preaching but the article below is very offensive to me.

Michelle~ My parents did not know either. The internet didn't exist in 1982. They only knew what the fundi church pastor told them and what they heard Ron Williams say in sermons. Ron Williams has been pretty camouflaged over the years but that time is ending. Thank you for your blessings and I hope your heart heals. Guilt does no good to anyone so please, let it go and spread the word! There are many moms involved with our movement. We connect pretty well on Facebook. If you're on, look up the groups on Hephzibah House survivors.

It has been very healing for me to communicate with others who survived what I went thru and hopefully it will be the same for you.

I remember you! I was only there a short time and I still have nightmares. I cannot imagine how bad they would be if I had stayed for over three years! I'm so glad you found us Marcie.

I've been wondering if there was anything out there like this !!!! I left hh in 1994. I still...this many yrs later have dreams that I'm being taken back. I was there...not be but twice. 3 1/2 yrs altogether.

Alot of parents were deceived about that place. But people know all about it now thanks to the net, and all the websites and blogs that are springing up and telling the world the truth. You just didnt know. How could you?
Before I forget.....a couple days ago I talked with someone at Indiana State Rep Shelli VenDenburgh's office....AGAIN....about doing something. At least introduce a bill during the next legislative session. They have a whole file about HH. With all the publicity they cannot ignore it much longer.

This is a message to my children and all those who have been involved with hh. I am sorry for the mistakes I have made as a parent and Christian. I was deceived. I am seeing the LIGHT! My heart is heavy, God WILL heal!
Jenny...are you still out there? If you'd like to discuss theology sometime, just email. It would be inappropriate to get into it too deep here on the board. But I'd be interested in hearing more about your beliefs and how you arrived at them. And I could share the same with you.

Jason...glad you found the site interesting. There are some humorous threads on here, but most of it is deadly serious, as we are talking about child abuse in the name of "God." Please check out the "links" tab on the right hand section of the board as it would give a pretty good perspective on whats going on here. And please sign the petition that Karen posted a couple of posts down. At least check it out. Thanks.
